Med Return Drug Collection Unit

The St. Augustine Beach Police Department is proud to announce a partnership with CVS Pharmacy with the recent installation of a Med Return Drug Collection Unit. The collection unit is made available for the public to dispose of unwanted and expired prescription drugs. The drugs can be disposed of without question into the secure box and then the agency will destroy them in accordance with Florida State Statutes. Items we do not accept include needles and liquid. The unit is mounted inside the Police Department located at 2300 A1A South, St. Augustine Beach. The unit will be accessible to the public for drop offs Monday thru Friday from 8 A.M. until 5 P.M.

The unit was given to the St. Augustine Beach Police Department through a grant with CVS Caremark Community Relations Department.  CVS’ Drug Disposal for Safer Communities Program was created because they recognized the importance of safely removing expired and unwanted prescription drugs from households where they can otherwise become a source for drug abuse or diversion. It is our sincere hope of the St. Augustine Beach Police Department that this drug collection unit becomes a useful tool for your agency in the fight against prescription drug abuse in your community.
