Commander T.G. Harrell started his law enforcement career in 1993 with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s office as a reserve deputy. In 1994 Commander Harrell was hired by the St. Augustine Police Department and remained there until March of 2002. After the events of 9/11 Commander Harrell went to work for The Department of Homeland Security as a Special Agent. In 2009 Commander Harrell took a position as an investigator with the State Attorney’s Office here in St. Johns County. Commander Harrell was assigned to the homicide unit for the bulk of his time there. Commander Harrell is also a veteran of the United States Air Force and the Florida Army National Guard. Commander Harrell took a position with the St. Augustine Beach Police Department in September of 2020 and is currently responsible for the overall patrol operations of the St. Augustine Beach Police which includes but is not limited to, patrol management, K9 Unit, secondary employment, internal affairs, agency fleet, special events and the field training/evaluation program. Commander Harrell has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration from Flagler College and Master of Public Administration Degree from Barry University.
