Applications

The St. Augustine Beach Police Department is always accepting applications for employment. Completed applications can be submitted during business hours, Monday through Friday, at the department’s front office. Alternatively, you can submit your application by mail to 2300 A1A S St. Augustine, FL 32080 or by email to contact@sabpd.org.

This application is for both sworn and non-sworn positions.


Why Join SABPD?

When starting your career with the SABPD, you’ll initially be assigned to Patrol. After successfully completing your probationary period, you’ll have the opportunity to apply for specialized positions, including:

  • Investigations
  • K9 Unit
  • Crime Prevention
  • School Resource Officer (SRO)
  • Full-time Beach Patrol

Additionally, members can choose to participate in other assigned duties like Bike Patrol, Drone Operator, Honor Guard, and Evidence Specialist. For officers interested in tactical operations, we partner with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office and the St. Augustine Police Department to offer unified county teams for SWAT, Special Response Team, and Dive Team.

Members will benefit from our commitment to professional development and advanced training. We prioritize readiness through attending elite national training programs as well as completing numerous in-house training sessions on essential skills like firearms, defensive tactics, vehicle operations, ocean rescue techniques, first aid, and use of force.

The St. Augustine Beach Police Department is an extremely active partner with the community. Members will have the opportunity to participate in department sponsored community events where they can positively interact with members of the community. We are proud to have the strong support of both our citizens and city leadership, which is the foundation of our success.

FAQs:

We offer academy sponsorships to select candidates, which are determined case-by-case. The sponsorship covers the reimbursement of your academy tuition. Start the process by submitting an employment application.

The SABPD does not offer lateral transfers from outside agencies. 

Out-of-state certified law enforcement officers must complete the Equivalency of Training (EOT) course before submitting their application.

Volunteer
